There is 98toto much to be said about nice, affordable, dependable cars. We're not referring to budget automobiles in the classic sense—think of them as a mobile jail. The days of the most basic cars having rubber floor mats, manual crank windows, and no air conditioning are long gone.
Rather, we are discussing affordable, high-quality autos. Automobiles that attend to your needs and desires, function without requiring much in the way of maintenance or oil changes. Small economic vehicles like the Toyota Corolla, Nissan Versa, and Mitsubishi Mirage are on the list, but there are also a few Teslas, a Lexus, and even the performance-oriented Toyota Supra.
We used information from CarEdge about the cars with the lowest maintenance and repair costs to create this list. The risk of needing a significant repair as well as predicted yearly and ten-year expenses were included in this data.
