Tesla Model 3 with car repair background

There is 98toto much to be said about nice, affordable, dependable cars. We're not referring to budget automobiles in the classic sense—think of them as a mobile jail. The days of the most basic cars having rubber floor mats, manual crank windows, and no air conditioning are long gone.

Rather, we are discussing affordable, high-quality autos. Automobiles that attend to your needs and desires, function without requiring much in the way of maintenance or oil changes. Small economic vehicles like the Toyota Corolla, Nissan Versa, and Mitsubishi Mirage are on the list, but there are also a few Teslas, a Lexus, and even the performance-oriented Toyota Supra.

We used information from CarEdge about the cars with the lowest maintenance and repair costs to create this list. The risk of needing a significant repair as well as predicted yearly and ten-year expenses were included in this data. To determine the top 20 cars, we then ordered the list by the lowest average total cost of maintenance over a ten-year period.

1. Nissan Altima

Ten-year Expense: $5,561
Costs Per Year: $196 in Year 1 and $1,034 in Year 10
16.4% of cases require major repairs.

The Nissan Altima, a mid-size sedan, has comfortable Zero Gravity seats and a spacious cabin with respectable performance. The Altima may be had with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and it can even have the ProPilot Assist highway driving technology from the manufacturer.

2. Toyota RAV4

Ten-Year Expense: $5,531
yearly expenses $201 in Year 1 and $1,021 in Year 10; 16.1% of Major Repairs Needed

Toyota's 98toto well-liked little crossover SUV is called the RAV4. With an available hybrid drivetrain or the regular gas-only one, it offers good fuel economy and spaciousness. Offering an array of trim options, its dependability is well-established.

3. Lexus ES 350

Ten-Year Expense: $5,488
Costs Per Year: $217 in Year 1, $989 in Year 10,
15.1% of cases will require major repairs.

Of all the luxury vehicles that aren't electric, the mid-size Lexus ES has the lowest maintenance and repair expenditures. It's not as much fun to drive as some of its rivals, but it's still a good option for those who value luxury and comfort.
