Oregon has gotten a bad rap as an oversupply hub for legal herb, however the reports are in for last yearn with some surprising news. 2019 was a lit year for dispensary sales and tax revenue with $793 Million in legal weed sales. Taxing weed brought in $110 Million of tax revenue for Oregon, and overall sales of weed increased by $150 Million over 2018.
Experts credit social acceptance, a broader base of customers, and consumer safety concerns for the dramatic increase in dispensary sales.
Eastern counties in Oregon saw robust economic benefits derived from licensing cannabis processors, growers, and dispensaries. People from counties that decided not to license weed businesses make up a significant portion of the business at these relatively remote dispensaries that are doing above average sales per capita.
