The Governor and Department of Health in Pennsylvania sent out a bulletin to businesses throughout the state on Saturday, March 14, 2020 notifying them to cease all non-essential activities. Restaurants were encouraged to shutdown in-person dining options, and to open delivery immediately in order to flatten the curve of Coronavirus spreading.
Nationwide, cannabis consumers have been stocking up on supplies in case the supply chain is impacted by a pandemic related interruption. We wrote before about how the lack of banking makes it a challenge to offer contactless options for cannabis purchasing.
Well, here we are in an official crisis and local policy makers are beginning to take actions to try to offset the spread of COVID-19.
Fortunately, Governor Tom Wolf of Pennsylvania realizes that medical cannabis dispensaries are essential businesses and he is not shutting them down.
As other local governments look to curtail the spread of Coronavirus, it is important to look at the precedent in Pennsylvania of establishing the proper classification for dispensaries.
We procured some extra kush on Friday last week just to be safe.
