Canada's Retail Weed Sales Kick Into High Gear.

Monthly Sales Jump To 9-Figures.

Investors have been crying the blues of late related to their Canadian cannabis investment portfolios, but what if the sentiment got the facts of the industry wrong?  Is the vape issue actually good in the long run for legalization because it brings public safety concerns to the forefront?

It all depends who you listen to.  Because, if you listen to the reporting out of Canada for their ongoing retail cannabis sales- then, you know that they moved over $100MM in November of 2019.  This is worth noting because it is the first time ever that sales exceeded $100MM for a single month since Canada legalized it.

A new industry surely takes time to achieve efficiency in its supply chain, and weed appears to be starting to hit its stride as a commodity-based business.  Afterall, the base ingredient in marijuana products is a farmed agricultural item that takes time to mature.  With heavy regulation it has taken time for the supply chain to gain licenses and real estate, however a $100MM month is demonstrative of a system that is working.

Forecasters envision a $5B+ annual market in Canada when retail and production are fully up and running.

The alternative is to have Prohibition and unregulated local markets where public safety would be at risk.  The Government does not receive any tax benefit from weed sales without regulation either.  Some medical breakthroughs on top of the safety and economic benefits make it clear that legalization is here to stay.
