Autumn is the time when the days are getting shorter and there is less and less sun. It is at this time that we need light and warmth more than ever. Daylight hours are waning, but we are quite capable of extending them. Candles will help with this a small but brilliant invention that gives not only light, but also coziness.
Many of us associate a candle flame with home warmth, coziness, romance and at the same time with something mysterious. Even an ordinary dinner will become special if you light candles on the table. They can create both a romantic and a festive atmosphere.
What better way to decorate autumn candles than with the gifts of autumn itself? This is an inexhaustible source of eco-ideas!
here you will see 50 photos of ideas for autumn candle decoration with fruits, berries, nuts , cereals, spices and everything edible (for people or animals) that can be found in the house, garden or park,
40 examples of original candlesticks from vegetables, fruits and pumpkins with master classes on how to do it yourself
If such natural decor also smells nice, you will gain experience in creating scented candles, the natural aroma of which cannot be compared to any artificial analogue.
All such ideas can be divided into 3 categories:
(1) an original candlestick is made from solid and stable gifts of nature (apples, pumpkins, pomegranates, citrus fruits), the type of candles is any, including tea candles;
(2) from long, shape-retaining ones - “wrapper” for a thick molded candle (corn cobs, asparagus, cinnamon sticks);
(3) all small, loose and fragile eco-decor options are usually used as a “filler” (cereals, nuts, coffee, spices, berries, etc.). It is placed around the candle on a tray or inside a container, the center of which is occupied by a candle; fruits, citrus fruits and pumpkin can also serve in this role (if they are small in size, and the size of the composition does not play a special role).
Try adding different vegetables and fruits to the candles. Or wrap them with corn cobs, green asparagus. Candles can be decorated with a wreath of leaves, acorns or small pumpkins.
Variations on the cornucopia theme are perfect for an autumn table. The simplest option is a candle in a low glass bowl, with apples and small limes placed around the candle. A flat bowl with berries, nut kernels or beans scattered inside will make an excellent candlestick. A wreath of autumn leaves will look especially chic when used to complement such a composition – it’s better if they are of different colors.
Beautiful, appetizing, and besides, smells nice. Such “apple” candles will delight guests, and on dark autumn evenings they will please you not only with coziness, but also with a fresh, invigorating aroma.
Large candles will look great in vases where acorns, nuts, chestnuts are scattered between the walls of the vase and the candlestick. Or corn kernels, beans (see examples in the following sections).
Tea lights decorated with small nuts will look great in low glasses. Other natural materials that can be used alone or combined are also suitable - acorns, cones, thin flexible branches.
Want a festive atmosphere? Paint some of the decor silver or gold.
Important fire safety additions (applies to any type of “dry” fillers for candle decoration and to compositions using flowers):
This fine eco-filler can be layered inside a glass container to achieve exotic color play (the glass should be thick and heat-resistant!). Or you can make an appetizing composition: for example, candles, beans and lentils in muffin tins.
Small ears of multi-colored “Indian” corn can be wrapped around a thick candle or glass candlestick, securing it with a rope. For greater expressiveness of eco-style, add dry corn leaves to the composition. If you want romance, tie a playful silk ribbon and tie a bow.
You can simply sprinkle regular corn kernels on the bottom of a glass container (vase, jar) with a candle inside. You can also “play” with colored layers by adding red or white beans, dry peas or lentils to the corn.
autumn candle decor with berries and physalis:
A rather rare plant in our gardens, but how delightful are its bright “boxes” in which the seeds ripen. They are an elegant and very original version of autumn candle decor that will surprise guests and household members.
Place a thick candle on a saucer covered with berries. Or decorate small hanging candlesticks made of bright glass with tiny branches of berries. Line up candles on a shelf, and then lay berry branches of two colors in front of them. Weave a wreath of berries or make an autumn composition with a candle on a tray.
Want candles and a bouquet “in one bottle”? Create an exquisite composition of flowers, berries and leaves in a tall candlestick (the author advises to fasten the stems with a metal ring or wire). Collect a refreshing bouquet of tea roses and greenery and complement it with a carved wooden candlestick (to make the flowers last longer, put a floral foam inside). Excellent eco-style decor!
If you have some aromatic spices in your kitchen (cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, star anise, peppercorns), and not ground, but natural, this is an excellent spicy filler for autumn candle decor. Here are some examples, varied in the type of spices and decor techniques.
A special chic is the filling for candle decoration made from coffee beans, the luxurious natural aroma of which can be obtained not only thanks to the drink.
